Vendors Press Release

“Warren County Targeted to be “The Show of the Season”

Harmony, NJ – A professional committee of promoters has seen the boundless possibilities of the Warren County Antiques Fair and Festival to be held on September 25th and 26th from 10am to 4pm each day.  For the past 4 years the show has been in its infancy as a well received show on the local level located in a picturesque yesteryear setting.  New management is putting forth a full court press to make the show “The Show of the Season.”  “There are such untapped possibilities here,” stated one of the show’s major fund raisers, we are so confident that this year’s show will be a huge success that we are expanding it to be a two-day event.”  The new promoters have launched a major press and radio broadcast campaign to attract visitors from metropolitan areas. Special features include renowned authority, Harry Rinker, from the popular radio show WHATCHA GOT? who will be doing free appraisalsfor visitors throughout the two-day festival.

One of the most unique advantages of this show is that it is held at the Warren County 60 acre fairground which has multiple pavilions allowing the entire outdoor / indoor show to be moved indoors maximizing it to more than 20,000 square feet of indoor space in the event of rain, making the show virtually “rain proof.”  The fairgrounds can be reached by way of a scenic country drive or by utilizing the convenient access from routes 78, 80, 57, 46, and 519.  Parking is free. In addition, the vicinity is home to a host of country inns, bed and breakfasts, and acclaimed country restaurants.

You will see collectibles at this show that appear once in a lifetime. This show is authentically and exclusively “antiques” in every aspect and not intermingled with contemporary crafts or items.

Vendors of high-end collectibles to casual antiques are already signed for the show which will have the ambience of an old time country fair including folk dancing by the popular group “The Lehigh Valley Cloggers.” The Blue Mountain Early Steam and Gas Engines group are planning an impressive exhibition of early trucks, tractors and other vintage engines. Civil War musicians, Wilkins and Winch, will sing and perform in vintage costume on period instruments including the obscure “Rhythm Bones” which were popular during that era.

Art conservator, Michael Hartnett, dubbed the “Art Doctor” of “Broken Things Fixed” will be at the show both days to receive broken or damaged ceramic items for repair and to discuss the care and conservation of antiques and collectibles.  Historic tool collector and president of CRAFTS, Bob Garay, will be displaying his legendary collection and lecturing on early period New Jersey tools. David Lowe will present many examples from his comprehensive collection of 250,000 Tobacco Cards.  John Simone, second generation watch and clock maker will be doing personal evaluations and lecturing on the importance and collectible aspects of old time watches and clocks. Anthropologist, Ivan Raupp, who is dedicated to preserving the ancient art of blacksmithing, will be demonstrating on his open fire Buffalo forge.  Visitors may bring broken glass items to second generation glass repair expert, Wade Nulton, who will do on-site repairs on Waterford Crystal, Lalique, Baccarat, Steuben, Depression Glass, Marbles, Paperweights, Moser, and Swarovski.  In addition there will be an Artisan Tent with craftsman demonstrations of rug hooking, wool weaving, and wood turning and these items will also be offered for sale. Music and excellent home–made food, including everybody’s favorite “Jacktown” family-made ice cream are all part of a show that is designed to please.

To insure an outpouring of visitors and reach areas where city dwellers are anxious to find an ideal weekend getaway for the end of the season, show promoters have set in motion intensive advertising techniques. Obtaining a massive nationwide mailing list, saturation e-mails, post card mailings, personal phone calls, radio broadcast, email blast, collectors’ papers, community bulletin boards, internet blogs, major newspaper ads and articles, are among some of the press tools that are onboard. Kara Curry from 99.9 The Hawk radio will broadcast from the show as part of the ad campaign.  Managers are taking every opportunity to inform the public of the opportunity to spend an enjoyable weekend in a relaxing country atmosphere and expand their antique collections with extensive choices and exciting diversity.

Those who have participated in the show in the past are spoiled by the conveniences.  One attendee dubbed it a “vendors dream” for having the option to set-up for the show on the Friday before and loading immediately adjacent to their indoor or outdoor space. All indoor booths have the convenience of electricity.  Outdoor spaces accommodate vendor parking at the booth.  This year an outdoor tented section and tailgate area will also be available. Special co-op rates are being offered. Holiday Inn Express, Easton is offering a discount rate to all show participants.

This year’s Warren County Antique Festival has all the potential to be a “fail safe” venture for both visitor and dealer alike.  Register before September 1st to insure preferred locations.
